Interior designers face new challenges with every design or remodel project. The following are some of the interior design projects successfully undertaken by Lynn Shannon Interior Design:
Problem: My client didn’t like the "industrial" look of her urban loft, and wanted a more sophisticated, elegant, "Manhattan-esque" home.
Solution: In collaboration with an architect, we removed the iron staircase and replaced it with a "floating" walnut-and-glass staircase. We took out the existing fireplace with exposed venting and replaced it with a "ribbon" fireplace and walnut-and-cherry cabinetry. We covered the exposed brick walls with sheet rock and painted them a light taupe.
Problem: When my clients purchased a second home in Florida, they wanted to use some of their existing furnishings in their new place.
Solution: I took an inventory of furnishings and accessories and, using their new floor plan, I incorporated the pieces that would transition well from Colorado to Florida. I then travelled to their new home to fine-tune everything, from selecting light fixtures and hanging artwork to reupholstering certain pieces and accessorizing the space.
Problem: A medical equipment firm leased a large warehouse space that would accommodate 60 people and needed help orchestrating the office move.
Solution: My partner and I measured and accounted for all of the cubicles to be dismantled and reassembled in the new space… this was daunting! We had to be aware of all electrical/cable needs as well. It was like putting together a giant puzzle. We also designed the new office’s break room, lobby area with custom reception desk, conference room and executive areas.
